A wonderful stop at Candelo General Store & Café. We came for morning coffee after spending the night in Candelo as part of our motorhome journey across Australia. It was the perfect way to start the day – excellent coffee, a relaxed local atmosphere, and a beautifully curated general store full of character. We also really enjoyed wandering through the beautiful boutique shops nearby, each one thoughtfully designed and full of local creativity, which added so much charm to our visit. A special thank you to the town of Candelo for welcoming motorhomes and allowing travellers to stay overnight. That generosity made it possible for us to enjoy this lovely café, the boutique shops, and the town at a slower, more meaningful pace. Highly recommended for anyone passing through.

We spent the past week in Merimbula and one of the best parts was the easy 10–15 minute drive to Candelo Cafe. We went multiple times and it was spot on every time. Teddy and Lou, the owners, are so welcoming and the kindest people ever (like give you the shirt off their back type people) and their staff are honestly cut from the same cloth, just as genuine and friendly. We tried breakfast and lunch, as well as just a stop for coffee and a slice and everything was consistently good. The slices are to die for and you will have a hard time leaving without grabbing yourself one or three to take away! It is hard to pick a favourite because nothing disappointed. Next time we stay in Merimbula, Candelo Cafe will be our first stop before we even check in. Definitely worth the drive.

really nice place, prices are low but serving sizes are small, toast dishes only came with one piece of toast. i expect two or to be warned about them only coming with 1 piece. food for the most part was nice, however my dish was burnt, tried to get anyones attention but no one came over by the time i finished my meal. staff were all very young. smoothes were nice but very expensive compared to thenrest of the menu. still a nice place and would recomend if in the area.
